DRESS REHEARSAL TIMETABLE & INFORMATION

This year we are holding our dress rehearsals over two afternoons.  We understand that for some children this will mean they will be required due to their number of classes and segments they are performing in on both afternoons.  Please appreciate that every decision we make is in the very best interests of the students.  We felt last year that it was far too busy, congested in the back of the theatre and we needed more precious time on stage to ensure that our lighting, sound and other effects will best enhance our students and ensure that it is a magical and memorable time for them.  We also appreciate that it’s a busy time of year and people work and there is the rush after school so we understand that the students may not be picture perfect.  We know they will look absolutely beautiful on the days of the concert.  We do ask that if you are unsure of hair and make up that you do practise on the dress rehearsal days so we can best guide you. 

DRESS REHEARSALS-  THURSDAY, 1^st DEC 3.30- 4.30pm

This will be an exclusive time slot just for Angelina students.  All classes in the Angelina program will be required at this time.  Please arrive dressed 15 mins prior to the commencement of the rehearsal so we can settle the students, say their goodbyes and take them into the auditorium.  They will be dismissed at 4.30pm and taken through stage doors to meet their parents.  We ask only one family member picks them up as there is simply not adequate space for a huge amount of people in the limited area we are given for backstage collection.  They are only little so we don’t want them overwhelmed by a huge amount of people waiting.   Our Angelina students and Little Stars ( preschool jazz  will feature in their own FINALE” which will conclude the first exciting half of our performance.

DRESS REHEARSALS- THURSDAY, 1^st DEC 5pm- 7.30pm

STUDENTS IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE SHOW NEED TO BE AT THE THEATRE BY 4.45pm dressed in costume and ready to perform.  All students in the first half will be dismissed at 7.30pm  Students will wait in theatre auditorium unless they have costume changes where they will be permitted to access dressing rooms.

DRESS REHEARSALS- FRIDAY, 2^nd DEC 4-7pm

Students appearing in the second half of the show will need to be at the theatre, fully dressed and ready to go at 3.45pm.  Students appearing in the second half will be dismissed from theatre at 7.00pm.  They will be sat in theatre auditorium whilst they are waiting but if they have costume changes they will be permitted to access dressing rooms.

Thank you to all the generous people who have volunteered to assist us on Concert Days.  We will need our volunteers to be inducted by Theatre Staff at 12.30pm Saturday, 3rd December.  This will give only those who are our volunteers and assisting in supervision and organisation access to back of house areas of the theatre. 

·       Entry to Dress Rehearsals is via Carrington Ave entrance.  Students are to be taken to back glass door ( stage door.)  Please ensure that you are dressed and ready to commence rehearsals at your nominated time.  This will be a full dress rehearsal in running order.

·      Students are to have their names marked off on their class roll as a sign in for rehearsal.  Performers and Parents are NOT permitted in the foyer area of the Theatre.  REHEARSALS ARE CLOSED.  ( Parents, friends etc are NOT permitted backstage, stage area or within the theatre auditorium.) Parents may wait in dressing room areas to assist with costume changes but only if your child has a costume change on that day of rehearsal.  Parents of young performers are welcome to stay in the Dressing Rooms Area.  Students are fully supervised in theatre.

·      Students are to wait to be called for each rehearsal. They will be dismissed from stage or auditorium at close of their rehearsal. 

·      Students with changes for rehearsals are asked to be prompt.  This is a good rehearsal for the actual day as there are a few quick changes needed.  Please set up side stage for the very quick changes.

·      No food or drink in the theatre auditorium during rehearsals.  Young students should not be eating and drinking while in costume.  Please ensure that all students have a water bottle that is labelled with their name.

·      Dressing Rooms are to be left tidy.

·      Students must sign out before leaving the premises.

Notes for Concert Day Organisation, Hair & Make Make Up and other exciting information  will be given out during class in the weeks leading up to concert. All notes will also be posted on the blog and a link given on our FB page.

Stage Rehearsals - Sunday 13th November

TICKETING INFORMATION & STAGE REHEARSALS- SUNDAY 13^th November

The countdown continues.   Tickets go on sale from Monday, November 7^th.  They are available in person from the Box Office at DRTCC.  Box Office opens at 9.30am. They can also be purchased online www.drtcc.com.au . We cannot stress enough the importance of getting in early to avoid disappointment.  Last year, two shows sold out in two hours.  We now offer a third show and also have alleviated the amount of children in each show by having our gorgeous little Angelina’s perform in only one show.  We know they will put their best foot forward. It is therefore imperative that Angelina parents purchase their tickets on the first day of ticket sales.

Performance Shows for Angelina’s are as follows;

Saturday, 3^rd December  2pm  - Friday 9.30am class

Sunday, 4^th Dec 11am- Tuesday and Thursday 9.45am classes

Sunday, 4^th Dec 5pm – All Saturday Angelina classes

A reminder that tickets are charged at $30 for Adults and $28 for concession.  If your child would like to watch the show before or after their performance, they will need to have a ticket purchased for them. 

It’s time to get really excited because after all of our hard work in class we are now about to step on to stage for our very first stage rehearsal.  Our stage rehearsals will be held on Sunday, 13^th November at Dubbo Regional Theatre, Darling St.  The students are asked to please enter through the backstage entrance at Carrington Ave and mark your child’s name off the roll.  This is a closed rehearsal and only performers will be allowed entry beyond stage doors and area.

Stagecraft Rehearsals prepare the students for the correct manner to enter and exit the stage, the stage dimensions and other important features of Performance.  They are an important and exciting lead up to Dress Rehearsals and our Concert and are sure to combat all the nerves and ensure the performers are feeling prepared, confident and most importantly, very excited about their performance. Students should come dressed in dancewear and the entire faculty will be present on the day to keep a watchful eye over our stars.  Please collect your child from the backstage entrance at the close of their rehearsal.

9.15- 10am Saturday 9.30am Angelina class, Saturday 10.15am Angelina class

10- 10.45am- Tues 9.45am, Thurs 9.45am and Friday 9.30am Angelina class

10.45am- 11.30am Pre-Primary and Primary students , Grade 2 & 3

11.30am- 12.30pm Grade 1, Junior Jazz Thursday, Grade 4 students

12.30-1.30pm Intermediate Contemporary, Senior Contemporary, Senior Ballet

1.30- 2.30pm Junior Contemporary, Little Stars Jazz 3.45 Monday, Junior Tap

2.30- 3.30pm 6 years Jazz, 8 years Jazz, Intermediate Tap

In the coming weeks, we will also be sending home notes regarding our Dress Rehearsal on Thursday 1^st and Friday 2^nd Dec( we have decided to run our rehearsal over two days to ensure it runs more smoothly.  Angelina students will all be on Thursday 1^{st Dec}, 3.30- 4.30pm. First half performers will then run from 5-8pm. Second half performers will rehearse on Friday 2^nd Dec.  We will also be sending home an invitation for all Angelina students and their families to attend their special Presentation on the 9^th December. As soon as order of appearance is finalized, students will be notified), an invite for anyone who may be interested in volunteering assistance in the countdown, Costume Balances and information regarding the organization of both Dress Rehearsal and Concert Day.

Attached to this note is an order form for concert merchandise and dance supplies.

We are also asking if anyone would like to sponsor a page in our program or advertising space.  Please direct all enquiries to rikki@steppingoutdance.com.au.

Our 2016 Presentation will be at the close of our 5pm show for all students other than our Angelina’s .  Colin Rouse will be filming and taking photos of all three shows.  Order forms for DVD's will be available at the studio and be sent home with students.  We ask that all orders be sent directly to Colin Rouse and not left at the studio.  All information will be available on the order envelopes.

Concert Update

THE COUNTDOWN TO CONCERT IS ON.  Over the coming weeks we will be keeping you informed of important details in the lead up to Concert.  All of our information will be posted to our website  www.steppingoutdance.com.au  under DUBBO NEWS or on our Facebook Page.  (Hit Like if you haven’t already.)  We aim to make the lead up to Concert an enjoyable and stress free one.

Our thanks to everyone who has supported us in this process by ensuring your child has been measured for their dazzling costumes.  We really appreciate your cooperation and look forward to sharing in this exciting event with you.  A Hair & Make Up Guide will be sent home in November in readiness for Dress Rehearsals and the Big Day.  Photos of how to do hair and make-up will also be posted on our website and FB page to assist any new parents.

A REMINDER THAT OUR CONCERT “DON’T STOP THE MUSIC” will be staged on Saturday 3rd December & Sunday 4^th December in three fabulous performances.  Our Saturday show will commence at 2pm. Our Matinee Performance on Sunday 4^th Dec will commence at 11am and our evening performance at 5pm.  Students will be required to dance in all performances.  Angelina students will be designated ONE show for their wonderful performance. Our 2016 Presentation will be held at the conclusion of our 5pm show.  Angelina students will have their own Presentation Party on Friday, 9^th December.  More information will be supplied closer to the date.

A STAGE REHEARSAL will be held on Sunday, 13^th November at the Dubbo Regional Theatre.  A timetable will be supplied in the lead up to this rehearsal.  Costume Collection will be held during class times in the week leading up to dress rehearsals.  Balances will be advised prior to these dates and will be payable at time of collection.

A DRESS REHEARSAL will be held on Thursday, 1^st Dec and Friday, 2^nd Dec at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and will be a full rehearsal (hair & make up) and will run as per performance order.  This will also be a full technical performance.  Times will be supplied closer to the date. 

TICKETS WILL GO ON SALE on NOVEMBER 7th and will be available online from www.drtcc.com.au or from the Theatre Box Office ( in person or phone 02 6801 4378.)  Tickets are charged at $30 for ADULT and $28 for Concession.  Tickets for all shows SOLD OUT very quickly last year so we ask that everyone puts this date in your diaries.  We will update on Facebook as a reminder.

We really can’t wait to see the culmination of our 2016 dancing year on the big stage and know that these beautiful young people are going to shine.  We are absolutely thrilled at the work, enthusiasm and energy we are seeing in class. 

Notes will be staggered out over the following weeks so please keep a file at home of all our information.  Copies of all notes handed out will be on noticeboard and copies will also be placed online.  PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ACCOUNTS ARE NOW PAST DUE & WE WOULD APPRECIATE PROMPT PAYMENT.
